Keep Walmart item identifiers, receiving labels and carrier labels distinct when preparing an inbound shipment.
Verify the item identifier
Walmart’s current WFS guidance calls for a scannable UPC or GTIN on the sellable unit. An Amazon FNSKU is not an acceptable WFS item identifier. Check the item mapping against the Walmart catalog before printing or applying labels.
Match receiving labels to the shipment
Download the receiving labels associated with the WFS shipping plan in Seller Center. Match the actual box contents to the correct label. A carrier label serves a different purpose and does not replace the WFS receiving label. Mixed-SKU boxes need the applicable box-content and marking instructions.
Use a practical release checklist
- Confirm the approved item identifiers and quantities.
- Reconcile the physical units with the packing list and box contents.
- Check the required protective packaging and visible condition.
- Confirm that the current shipment labels are attached to the correct cases or pallets.
- Record open exceptions and obtain an instruction before releasing affected inventory.
Keep the quote specific to Walmart
WFS work should be priced against the requested labeling, packaging, inspection and rework. The Amazon FNSKU rate and FBA-only monthly minimum do not establish a Walmart offer. Ask for receiving, storage, materials and transport to be shown separately so the total reflects the shipment.
Plan receiving separately from prep
A completed prep job still needs a carrier handoff and Walmart receiving. Confirm the outbound appointment and documents before release. Checks and documentation can reduce avoidable errors, but no prep provider can promise that every shipment will be accepted without fees.
